Shock waves....

I do realize this bit of information is going to send shock waves through the colored pencil community. Please note, I said one of my students reported this information to me. Perhaps I should have called Panasonic myself before posting. I do know first hand that they are out of stock just about everywhere. Have any of you called?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! This is terrible. I confess, I bought one, and electric like I've been using for years. I got it off Ebay...new from an estate sale. I couldn't believe how beautifully it sharpened. Now I knoq how worn out the other one really was. I'm not sure we can fine anything near the quality of the Panasonics. To give it a try, I bought a battery operated sharpener from Staples. It sharpens fine but the Prismacolors barely fit...the Derwent Coloursoft will not.

I am going to get on ebay, and see if I can get one of those Panasonic sharpeners for myself. I just want to let you know that I absolutely loved the workshop this weekend. My first love has been watercolor until this weekend. I've taken art and studied it for years, but until last summer I never even entered a show because I really didn't think my stuff was all that great. I only entered because a friend of mine kept on pushing me to be in The Little River Art show. I can't tell you how completely shocked I was when I won 1st place. I have my masters in Hospital Administration, and I teach Medical Billing at the college, but I've always wanted to be an artist and had been too afraid to come out and admit it because I didn't ever think I could really do it. You are so inspiring, and it really made me feel like... "You know I am an artist, and the more I keep on keeping on going at this the better I'll be."

I bought an I-point the last time I needed a portable sharpener, because they were readily available and I didn't have time to order one. They have the same sharpening mechanism that the panasonics did, and sharpen at the same angle... however it was a tight fit with my home made pencil extenders (which i'm putting the easy directons on my blog soon for everyone)in use. So.. I did the old cowgirl ingenuity trick.. I took my trusty pocket knife out and reamed the hole in the plastic casing just a hair larger.. lol.

Panasonic makes more than one sharpener. What is the number of the one you use, or shape or something?
